Yellow Ostrich, once bedroom-project of Alex Schaaf and one of our bands to watch back in 2010, has turned into a full indie rock band. “Marathon Runner” is the forerunner of the new album Strange Land which will be out on March 6th via Barsuk.

Alex Schaaf, Michael Tapper and Jon Natchez from Yellow Ostrich are back with another infectious tune! «’Til I Disappear» starts with a lonely guitar riff and sounds quite like the «usual» stuff from the band at first, but in the middle it turns into a noisy rock jam with a crazy guitar solo and lots of fuzzy effects. Yeah!

We have just been blown away by the fantastic songs of New York’s Alex Schaaf, which some of you may know under the name Yellow Ostrich. In just 2 years this guy has released more than forty tracks on seven different releases on his Bandcamp page.
At first we were a bit sceptical about this huge amount of music and thought that most of the songs wouldn’t be too good. But checking out all his stuff we were amazed by Yellow Ostrich’s talent, being blessed with the ability to give every tune that certain something.
