Californian rocker Hanni El Khatibhas announced the release of his sophomore record which will be called Head In The Dirt! We’re happy to share the stream of the first single, the scorching, dusty garage rock track “Family”.
Head In The Dirt will be out on April 30th and was produced by the almighty Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.
I won’t say much about it: Just enjoy this new The Black Keys tune called “Lonely Boy”. Their new album El Caminowill be out soon and “Lonely Boy” will also be released as a limited edition Record Store Day 12″ single on November 25 with the b-side “Run Right Back”.
Yesterday the video for The Black Keys new single, the outstanding “Howlin’ For You”, was premiered on IMDb (The Internet Movie Database). This wasn’t something out of place, because the Chris Marrs Piliero directed clip is built like a trailer for a Grindhouse / Desperado – inspired B-Movie. (Although it caused some confusion on IMDb as some people thought it was a real trailer for a real movie) It stars a lot of B-listers that include Todd Bridges, Tricia Helfer, Corbin Bernsen, Diora Baird, Sean Patrick Flanery, and Christian Serratos, not to mention snowboarder Shaun White.
The video is just freakin’ hilarious as it also features the duo itself and the dinosaur puppet of the “Next Girl” video. Check it out!
I don’t think that there’s too much to say about this video, it’s always great to see perform The Black Keys on such a show. Especially if it’s “Next Girl”, one of my favourites off their new album Brothers.
The Black Keys will release their sixth full-length album, Brothers, May 18 via Nonesuch Records. The album follows a busy 2009 for the the duo, including their three other acclaimed projects released in the past year: Dan Auerbach’s solo effort, Keep It Hid, the debut LP from Patrick Carney’s band Drummer, and Blakroc, a collaboration between The Black Keys and the Roc-a-Fella Stable of Rappers (Ludacris, Raekwon, RZA, etc.)
This is the first single we get to hear from the new album! Another new song called “Tighten Up” is being streamed on the band’s myspace, which I like even more. Check it out!
