«Sermon» is definitely one of these songs, that can be described as «multifunctional». On one hand it sounds cold, frosted and minimalistic — perfect for silent hours at home — on the other hand this track fits perfectly on the dancefloor.
Probably that’s exactly what its creators, the members of Stockholm-based outfit The Touch, wanted to effect. And that’s probably also why Kitsuné decided to release an EP with the original song and five remixes. Avaliable here.

I enjoy listening to Lykke Li‘s music, but after two or three songs I already get a little tired of it. Maybe it’s her voice, I don’t really know.
This thing I really dig though. English beat master Gold Panda has taken one of Lykke’s new songs called “Sadness Is A Blessing” on board and did a perfect remix. Sorry to say, but this is far better than the original! Definitely one of the best remixes this year so far.

We spent a beautiful day here in Switzerland with temperatures up to 25°C and sunshine all day long. But that wasn’t all: We could even celebrate a little jubilee! Because today, on April 02, it has been exactly 6 months since Rees joined Guerolito in running this blog.
These 6 months brought us a new design, a few lovely specials, our own concert series and of course tons of new lovely music. For example by Stockholm-based electronic-duo Montauk. We wrote about them back in November last year. Now, they release their first full EP The Newsroom on April 11 via Brilliantine.
Luckily, this melodic and pretty ambient track called “Eye-contact” is already avaliable to stream on Soundcloud. Pure perfection, damn!

It doesn’t seem like, but Beck Hansen still is one of the hardest working guys in the music business. Although he hasn’t released a proper album for about 2 years, he’s been busy producing albums (Charlotte Gainsbourg), covering entire records in his Record Club and of course working on his own stuff. I just hope there will be a new album out soon!
At least we get a little christmas present from Mr. Hansen, as he remixed Lykke Li’s latest effort “Get Some“, creating a weird but great sounding version. (Also check out Beck’s christmas mix “Santa Doesn’t Smoke” he just uploaded here.
