I’m considering myself to be quite a sucker for dreamy shoegaze sounds. Must be the reason why I fell for Taxes‘ “Over The View” right away. Flynn Wheeler‘s solo work can be filed somewhere between M83, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and Wild Nothing and brings back the 80ies to your speakers, without sounding too stale.
Taxes’ debut EP Back Of The Car Collection is ready for you to be bought at bandcamp - I highly recommend to download the entire record.

UK Garage rockers Mazes have not only released a great LP called Ores & Minerals this year, they have a 10 song mini-album coming out in October on FatCat Records. The nervous first song off this new record named Better Ghosts can be streamed below. Caution: It’s extremly catchy!

Sometimes it’s really convenient to have new music sent to you directly from the artist. No promo pics, no long press releases – just some words and a link to the music. Easy to check out. Now and then there’s gems of new songs hiding in between a lot of average stuff.
This is one of these stellar tunes – sent by Baltimore band SUN CLUB. The band has put up their new single “Beauty Meat” on bandcamp earlier this month, a song that is part of the 7” of the same name. These guys know pretty well how to add the right amount of distortion to their melodic indie pop to make you feel like being at a perfect house party.
Download “Beauty Meat” right here and head over to the SUN CLUB’s bandcamp page to download the b-side for free.

Long-time guerolitomusic favourite Orca Orca has just released a new EP called Tidals. Sounding dreamy and jangly as ever Jimmy Hewitt has obviously improved his songwriting and instrumental skills, having arrived at a very high level. It’s only a matter of time before bigger indie labels will take notice of Jimmy’s talents.
Download the EP over at bandcamp and make sure to buy one of the limited, hand-painted cassettes.
For now stick with Tidals’ amazing opener “Climb”.

Today we get to see the video to “Zenith Diamond”, another appetizer from the upcoming debut record from Italian lo-fi wizard Jonathan Clancy and his band His Clancyness. It was directed by Pietro Borzí and Giulia Mazza.
“Zenith’ is the nervous baby of the album, a fast lone wolf that doesn’t have a chance to breathe,” Clancy recently said in a interview. ”He gets his air on the other tracks from the album.”
Vicious will be released on FatCat on October 8. You can pre-order the record here.

Currently based in Brooklyn, New York The Pluto Moons is a project lead by Zach Levine-Caleb. The music he creates with fellow bandmates Max Alper and Sam Gautier can either be described as a funky attempt on modern indie music or a futuristic attempt on funk music. Well, let’s say it’s pretty hard to shelve their sounds.
On their recently released debut record Mannequin Legs The Pluto Moons channel influences from genres like indie rock, sampling, electronic music, funk, world music and soul and come out with a peculiarly danceable, yet sublime self creation of a musical genre.
Their entire debut album can be streamed and downloaded for a price of your choice over at The Pluto Moons’ bandcamp.

While the psychedelic indie music scene in the Republic of Chile seems to be in full bloom (see The Holydrug Couple), we still managed to miss out on Föllakzoid‘s new album II, which they released on Sacred Bones Records earlier this year. The highlight of this recommended record certainly is the opener “9″. Being the shortest track one the album it still shows the band’s incredible flair for krauty basslines and spheric soundscapes.
