Good news, everyone! Our Berne-based favorites Silver Firs (formerly known as Must Have Been Tokyo) are finally back with new material. After putting online their lovely summer jam «Away We Go» last year and playing a few concerts in different cities in Switzerland during the last months, they now present us another track off their upcoming debut album!
«Golden Age» premiered today, together with the following video. Check it out! You can name your own price to download the song on Silver Firs’ Bandcamp page!
Haha, what a lovely Valentine’s Day music video by Blood Orange. It’s the official one for «Forget It», one of the best tracks from his album Coastal Grooves (released 2011 on Domino Records). Directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz.
Kishi Bashi, that’s the moniker of K Ishibashi, collaborator and tour-member of acts like of Montreal, Regina Spektor, and Sondre Lerche. His own songs feel like an delightful excursion into epic orchestral spheres. I have to admit that I haven’t heard such refreshing pop tunes in a long, long time. Marvelous!
After a first EP last year, K is releasing his debut solo album, 151a, on April 10th via Joyful Noise.
You already had the chance to listen to a couple of tracks from Tennis‘ sophomore album Young & Old during the last weeks. The new record by our beloved trio (consisting of Patrick Riley, Alaina Moore and James Barone) is officially out on Valentine’s Day (February 14, in case you don’t know) on Fat Possum.
Since a couple of hours, you can finally stream the entire thing via the band’s Soundcloud page. Brilliant. These new tracks are exactly what I needed against these minus 15°C outside here in Switzerland.
Finally! Virginia’s Wild Nothing are back with a new single on February 21! You can listen to its title track «Nowhere» below. Makes me look forward to the follow-up to their Gemini LP from 2010, which will hopefully arrive later this year.
Here’s a blissful new track by Cheerleader (#88 on our best songs year-end-list of 2011), the Connecticut-based duo consisting of Donovan Rex and Max Friday. It’s part of their latest (and already sold out) 7″ called New Daze / Do What You Want, which was released in coorporation with Turntable Kitchen and their Pairing Box series.
