Deerhunter’s Lockett Pundt will soon release his second album called Spooky Action At A Distance as Lotus Plaza and shares a first new track called “Strangers”. You can download it below for free, together with a song called “Come Back”, from a recent split-10”. Both are amazing tunes.
After giving away his four Bedroom Databank collections with lots of self-recorded demos last winter, Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox is back with a new, official Atlas Sound album. A4D releases Parallax on November 8 in the US. And we can definitely look forward to this date, because this second track off it called «Te Amo» – a dreamy and nevertheless catchy song – is simply ace.

Even if our hometown Lucerne is a quite good place to go to concerts, it’s a rare thing to see a band here, which is really well known. So you can imagine that we were both extremely excited when we heard that Atlanta’s indie rock four-piece Deerhunter would play a show at the Südpol club on last Monday, April 04.
With good reason: after the show of the four guys, who were supported by Jana Hunter’s wonderful band Lower Dens, we both talked about having seen one of the best concerts of our lives so far. The wild set featured songs from all their albums, which were sometimes enlarged up to 10 minutes, a huge encore and even a little drum solo by lead singer Bradford Cox. Simply ace!

“Helicopter”, a slow and dreamy track from Deerhunter‘s forthcoming Halcyon Digest, now has a video. The clip is five minutes of frontman Bradford Cox singing directly into the camera, in tight black-and-white close-up, while other stuff flashes onscreen in double-exposure. It’s sort of an incredibly indie-fied take on Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” video, except no teardrop. (via Pitchfork) Update: Download the song below!
Halcyon Digest arrives September 28 from 4AD.

Finally we get to hear a first song from the new Deerhunter album Halcyon Digest which will be released in fall. “Revival” is for now part of a 7″ and is quite a percussive summer gem in my ears, with background singers that remind of Dent May somehow. This song, together with a really nice b-side called “Primitive 3D” make us definitly ready for more!
Halcyon Digest is out September 28 on 4AD.
