Concerning his beats, french beatmaker Charles Boyd is really faithfull to his alias Lord Boyd. Of all his tunes so far it’s “Versailles Beat” which impresses me the most. Over the comfortable beat it always sounds like a fanfare of trumpets in front of the Palace of Versailles is about to be played. But Lord Boyd only uses small fragments of the fanfare and loops & samples them in a terrific way!
