Finally! Virginia’s Wild Nothing are back with a new single on February 21! You can listen to its title track «Nowhere» below. Makes me look forward to the follow-up to their Gemini LP from 2010, which will hopefully arrive later this year.
Once more the playlist summarizes the music posted here last month and adds some more great tunes you did not know before. This is the first list of the new year and sure is an amazing one!
XXYYXX. That’s the moniker of Orlando-based youngster Marcel Everett, who just sent us over some of his newest productions/tracks via his label Relief in Abstract Records. Genre? Post-dubstep/jukewave à la xxxy (yeah, the name similarity is pretty funny) or James Blake mixed with chillwave à la Washed Out. Like it.
Yellow Ostrich, once bedroom-project of Alex Schaaf and one of our bands to watch back in 2010, has turned into a full indie rock band. “Marathon Runner” is the forerunner of the new album Strange Land which will be out on March 6th via Barsuk.
Really like this new stop-motion music video by the four guys from London’s Django Django. All the over 4000 frames of footage were hand-painted by the band members themselves. Directed by Dan Brereton.
